1. The Vivian Drenckhahn Student Scholarship

The Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE) funds two $1,500 student scholarships each year to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a degree in the field of health education.

4. NEHA/AAS Health scholarships

Funded by the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) and the American Academy of Sanitarians (AAS), this scholarship program is designed to encourage students to pursue a career in environmental health and to stimulate past and present graduates to pursue graduate studies in environmental health sciences and/or public health.

6. National Association of Health Services Executives Scholarships

The National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) sponsors a set of three annual scholarships. The awards go to African American graduate students in the field of health services.
The goal of these scholarships is to help to diversify the profession of health services.
Each scholarship is worth $2,500, and recipients are invited to attend the group’s annual conference without cost. The three scholarships included are:
- The Haynes Rice Award is bestowed by NAHSE to outstanding graduate students who are striving to become future leaders in healthcare management and NAHSE.
• The Florence Gaynor Award was established to recognize outstanding achievements among female graduate students who are striving to become future leaders in healthcare management and NAHSE.
• The Ellis Bonner Award is a special category to recognize the distinguished leadership and academic achievement among non-traditional graduate students who are striving to become future leaders in healthcare management and NAHSE.

This scholarship is awarded to qualified students who currently are residing in the MGMA Western region, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

9. Health Scholarship by MGMA Midwest

One of the most widely known scholarships for students in the field of medical practice management is the regional scholarship awarded by the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA).
The Midwest section scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program relevant to medical practice management, including public health, business administration or health care administration.
The scholarship is awarded to students residing in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota or Wisconsin.

10. Johnson & Johnson/AACN Minority Nurse Faculty Scholars
Deadline: May 1st
The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), with support from the Johnson & Johnson Campaign for Nursing’s Future, offers eight scholarships annually to fund underrepresented minority nursing students who plan to work as nursing faculty after graduation.

13. Healthcare Information Management Systems Scholarship
Deadline: October 22nd
Healthcare Information Management Systems (HIMSS) is a global, cause-based, not-for-profit organization with a goal of providing more efficient health through more effective information technology. The HIMSS Scholarship is awarded to one currently enrolled undergraduate student, one master’s level student and one doctoral level student.
Recipients will be awarded $5,000 and an all-expense paid trip to the Awards Banquet at the Annual HIMSS Conference.
Applicants for the Healthcare Information Management Systems scholarships must fulfill these minimum requirements:
- The applicant must be a member in good standing of HIMSS
- The primary occupation of the applicant at the time the scholarship is awarded must be that of the student in an accredited undergraduate, Masters or Ph.D. program related to the healthcare information or management systems field.
- Undergraduate applicants must be a junior in their first term or semester when the scholarship is awarded.

14. Health Scholarships by Harry J. Harwick

The Harry J. Harwick Scholarship was created for students in a graduate program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) or an undergraduate program that is a member of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA).
Each applicant must submit a letter outlining their career goals and objectives, a resume including employment history with a narrative describing employment responsibilities in the health care field, and three letters of recommendation. Applicant must attend an ACEHSA or AUPHA accredited school.

Health Scholarship by the Gates Millennium Scholars Program
Deadline: January 15th
The Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) Program selects 1,000 talented students each year to receive a “good-through-graduation” scholarship to use at any college or university of their choice. The GMS Program is fully funded through a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
The goal of this program is to provide outstanding African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American and Hispanic American students with an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education in any discipline area of interest.
Continuing Gates Millennium Scholars may request funding for a graduate degree program in one of the following discipline areas: computer science, education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health or science.

The Campus Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Association (CSHEMA) offer an annual scholarship in the amount of $2,000 to encourage the study of environmental and occupational health, safety, and related disciplines.

18. Health Scholarships by Bill and Mary Russell

The Bill and Mary Russell Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance for those pursuing educational opportunities toward a career in nursing or a health care field (clinical or patient care).
At least fifty percent of the awarded funds will support nursing scholarships. Remaining funds will be awarded to those pursuing educational opportunities in other clinical or patient care programs.

19. Health scholarships byThe Bachrach Family Scholarship for Excellence in Care Administration

In order to apply for this scholarship, students must be enrolled in a graduate program in Healthcare Administration and have a current academic standing of a 3.0 GPA or better.
