1. Federal Pell Grant

These awards assist students who have not finished any college education but desperately need financial assistance.

The deadline to submit your application is June 30th of each year, or as early as October 1st of the year before you require assistance.


2. Diversion Cash Assistance (DCA)

Diversion Cash Assistance is sometimes known as Emergency Cash Assistance (ECA) (DCA). It provides alternative assistance to single mothers in times of need.

Its main purpose is to help these families become self-sufficient by providing a combination of short-term monetary help and work opportunities.

The TANF funding is split into two groups. Grants for single children and families.

It developed grants specifically for children with the express aim of meeting their needs of children. This is a smaller amount than family grants, with one child receiving about $8 per day.


5. Federal Work-Study Grant

FWS (Federal Work-Study) is a federally funded financial aid program that allows single-parent students to earn money by working part time on or off campus in their major.

These students can earn up to 20 hours per week and get a monthly stipend based on an hourly wage to put towards their education.

This option will only work if you (the parent) have a cheap cost of living and family support to meet your child care needs.
